Blacks, Democrats, Republicans
People disagree on many fronts. There are so many issues, domestic and foreign, that people just can’t seem to agree on. The wars we fight, immigration policies, abortion, religion the economy and on and on. Even with so many issues on the table, blacks seem to mostly agree that the Democratic Party is the way to go. The reasons I most often hear at family gatherings are:
Republicans don’t care about the poor! Republicans are racist! Democrats speak to us! Republicans only care about the rich! The list goes on but you get the idea.
When I look at my black community, I see the same old opinions that have been held by blacks for decades. And all this time nothing’s changed. The ghetto is still there. The projects are still there. Welfare is still there. Crime is still there. Drugs are still there. The liquor store is still there. Kids are dropping out of school. Kids have no fathers. Kids are in gangs.
Voting Democrat hasn’t done sh** for the black community and here is why.
Democrat politicians promise you “Help”. Help for housing, help for food, help for education, help for medical services, unemployment, minimum wage, other social services for drug rehabilitation and teen pregnancy and more. Read that last sentence again and you’ll understand what Democrat politicians think of you. Exactly!
Government assistance really is necessary in some cases but make no mistake, there is not a single social program that can fix any problem a community might have. It’s an illusion. Welfare programs breed more welfare recipients. It’s a viscous cycle, it never ends. The truth is that welfare destroys communities. Democrat politicians are selling snake-oil. Always have, always will and they target blacks because they know that blacks will buy it. It sounds so nice, so well-meaning, so compassionate when you hear “We will stand up for the poor, the disadvantaged, the under-privileged!”. I am sick and tired of being talked down to by these Democrats like I can’t do anything for myself. It’s disgusting. I am black, that’s it. That doesn’t mean I am an idiot or that I am incapable of running my life without government assistance. We call those Democrat politicians and so-called black leaders “poverty pimps”. They are getting rich and powerful and using the poorest of the poor to do it. They know that what they are selling is only a quick-fix and will never get you out of poverty. Democrats want to keep you down, Democrats want you to keep hating the rich, Democrats want you to keep hating whites because if you don’t you might not vote for them anymore.
If there are any blacks out there that really want “Change” from voting Democrat for 40 years with no results then consider, just for a moment, that maybe all this stuff you’ve heard about Whites and Republicans since you were a little kid is not true. “Impossible” you say. Let me explain…
Republicans are not racist and they don’t hate the poor. That’s the truth. People who say that are misinformed. It’s one of those myths that people just accept but never really research. The problem with the republican party is that they are selling an idea that is hard to sell. It’s called independence and personal responsibility. Do you see the problem?
One party gives you free candy the other party claims that every American has the ability and responsibility to get their own candy. If you were a salesman, which party would you sell for? Right, the first one, which would be the Democrats.
So I realize that the Republican party is a very tough sell. Get free candy or get your own candy. You ask any kid that question and they’ll take the free candy. All this sounds very simplistic but hear me out. The Republicans believe in every American, yes, every American. For some reason blacks don’t feel they are included in that. Let me assure you that every American really means every American, regardless of race. The reason Republicans don’t single out black is because they are NOT racist but blacks seem to prefer being talk down to by Democrats rather than being included in “Every American”. The other myth, that Republicans don’t care about the poor, is just as ridiculous. Republicans are the most charitable people around. The difference is that Republicans don’t like for people to stay poor. That’s a big, big difference from the Democratic view of the poor. I think this old saying says it all: “You give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day. You teach a man to fish, he’ll eat for the rest of his life.” I loved this saying from the first time I heard it and I think it’s the simplest and most precise way to explain the difference between Republicans and Democrats.
I truly believe that Democrats are hurting the black community. They talk down to us, telling us we can’t do anything without their help or interference. It’s sickening. I don’t need George Bush nor Obama to live my life, but Obama thinks I do. Blacks who think the government is the answer to life in America should remember this.
The struggle was long. Through slavery and segregation we have come to this point in American history where blacks own businesses, become Doctors, drive Lexus’ and own large houses. Blacks are free, free to pursue their own lives, their own dreams. Whites have always understood that being truly free means that the power is with the people and not the government. For blacks to be truly free, the dependence on the government has to stop and reliance on their own abilities has to take over. Unfortunately, the party that breeds dependence on the government is also the party favored by blacks. The Democrats.
